Director of Financial Aid

 

 The Financial Aid Director will be responsible for the overall administration and oversight of the college’s Financial Aid program.

 

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and administer all federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures relating to student financial aid, student employment & scholarships.
  • Create and monitor financial aid budgets.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day management of the Financial Aid Office; supervises trains, and evaluates staff.
  • Prepare all federal, state, and institutional reports pertaining to aid/scholarships, and serves as liaison to state and federal funding agencies.
  • Administer the Title IV student financial aid programs to include grants, loans, and any other financial aid programs that may be established.
  • Serve as an active member of various committees throughout the College.
  • Coordinate provision of services to constituents and maintain a complete understanding of all Federal financial aid rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Developmental implementation of short- and long-range goals and objectives for the financial aid office.
  • Assist in counseling students and parents regarding financial aid eligibility and debt management matters, as well as analysis and awarding of financial aid funds.
  • Present financial aid workshops for prospective students & parents and make visits to area schools and career fairs to promote financial aid availability to students.
  • Prepare the annual FISAP report and any other reports requested by the Federal and/or State Government.
  • Coordinate audits of records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field, plus 7-10 years’ experience working in the Financial Aid Office at a higher education institution
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Aid regulations and procedures
  • Organizational management skills
