Job Posting – Dean of Students

Job Summary:

The Dean of Students provides support and oversight for all students. The Dean of Students will work with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to establish an environment inclusive and engaging to all participants.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversee departments that provide student learning and development opportunities, i.e. student activities, Greek life, residential services, and student leadership.
• Oversee departments that provide student and college-wide support, i.e. student counseling, religious life, student housing, and judicial affairs.
• Works with student affairs staff, faculty, and college staff to promote academic success and encourage personal growth and development for all students.
• Helps establish culture where diversity is encouraged, and students learn to respect differences and take responsibility for their actions.
• Develops and coordinates policies and procedures with regards to student affairs.
• Coordinates with campus constituencies and community leaders in developing and managing co-curricular learning and service opportunities.
• Oversees new student orientation.
• Serves as a liaison between students, parents, faculty, staff and the community.
• Other duties as assigned.

 Job Qualifications:

• Master’s degree, (Student Personnel or related area preferred) and five years of experience in a college setting.
• Strong computer and organizational skills.
• Strong oral and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of students.
• Flexible scheduling required.
