Student Spotlight: Natalya Juniel

At Arkansas Baptist College, we take pride in our students and their future. Take a closer look at one of our students, Natalya Juniel, here at ABC and find out the positive impact your donations are able to make in our community. Juniel is a graduating senior and will be receiving her BA in Public Administration in May 2018.

Where are you originally from?

I am a native of Camden, Arkansas.

What is your major? What made you choose your field of study?

I chose to pursue a degree in public administration, because there is a lot of opportunity in this field. I would love to work for the state.

Are you involved in organizations or extra-curricular activities? If so, what are they?

What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not studying for class/exams?

In my free time, I am always trying to figure out a way to make more income and enjoy time with my family. The reason I constantly try to find ways to bring in more money is because I strive to be in a place where my family does not have to worry about anything financially.

What is one of your favorite things about Arkansas Baptist College?

My favorite thing about ABC is the staff. They are understanding and always willing to help. They have an understanding that we are all adults and treat us as such. They also often ask for feedback to know where they can know what areas to improve in which is critical to be a great professor.

Why do you think people should donate to ABC for scholarships? How do you think it affects you & your peers?

People should donate to ABC, because anyone that knows what Arkansas Baptist has been through knows they have come a long way from where they started. I think it affects my peers, because having scholarship money encourages a student to want to be more involved on campus which means giving back to the community and therefore improves the ability of our school to positively impact our surrounding area.

Anything else you’d like to tell people about yourself?

Instead of being raised by my parents, my grandmother stepped up to the plate- who passed away about 7 years ago on New Years. I was told before she passed to “finish school and go all the way!” I came to ABC in 2012 on a track scholarship, but got pregnant and had to put a pause on school for a few semesters. However, I didn’t give up. I made a way to come back and will be graduating in May with my BA. Where there is a will, there is a way. Never give up, because there will be a lot of things that will come in your path, but you have to pray and look to God for answers and He will make a way.

Natalya’s story is just one of the hundreds that we get to hear on campus each day. As an alumni or supporter of Arkansas Baptist College, we want you to know that your donations and support don’t go unnoticed. Students like Natalya are able to attend college and enter the workforce thanks to your support. Please continue to show your support for ABC by donating, following us on social media, and spreading the word about our institution. As always, we are available by phone at (877)-643-5390.
