Student Spotlight: Davion Stockard

At Arkansas Baptist College, we take pride in our students and their goals. Take a closer look at one of our students, Davion Stockard, and discover what makes ABC so special to him. At ABC, Davion is a Public Administration major looking to make a difference in the world.

Where are you originally from?

I was born and raised in St. Louis MO.

What made you choose to be a Public Administration major?

The reason I chose to be a Public Administration major was to be able make a change in the world as we see it today. Public Administration is not a limited path as there are various roads that one can go down. I have not yet figured out what my destination is, but what I do know is that God will guide me in the right direction.

What organizations or activities are you involved in?

What most people don’t know about me, is that I am a great football player and I have several football scholarships to other institutions after my time at ABC.

What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not studying?

In my free time I like to sit on my laptop and look for scholarships. One thing my family always taught me was that there are no days off and you have to fight for your future. But searching for scholarships is like a hobby of mine now. No matter what the reward whether it’s $50 or $700, anything will help me on my journey.

What is one of your favorite things about Arkansas Baptist College?

I love that no matter what happens, the faculty and staff have your back. There where several times when I felt like giving up because things got too rough for me. It seems like the faculty knows just when you need encouragement. They push you to your limits and encourage excellence.

What is your favorite college experience so far?

Honestly, every experience I’ve had at ABC has been my favorite. I can’t really separate one from another. I love ABC.
